Download the original uploaded file

If UpSheets still has a copy of the file you uploaded (CSV or Excel), you can download it again from Import Data or My Imports. This is useful when you need the original spreadsheet after mapping or upload.
Download is only available when the stored file still exists. Data imported from an integration or API (not an uploaded file) usually has no download option. Imports are also removed automatically after 60 days, after which download is no longer available.

Download from Import Data (Recent Imports)

Select Import Data from the menu. In the Recent Imports list on the left:
  1. Hover over the import row.
  2. A download icon appears at the end of the filename row, before the X delete control.
  3. Click the download icon to save the original file.
If you uploaded more than one file in a single import, UpSheets downloads them as a zip archive.

Download from My Imports

Select My Imports from the menu. In the table Action column for the import:
  1. Click Download (between View and Delete) when it is shown.
  2. The browser saves the original uploaded file, or a zip if the import contained multiple files.

When download is not available

Download is not shown when:
  • The import came from an integration or API rather than an uploaded CSV or Excel file.
  • You (or the system) already deleted the import.
  • The import is older than 60 days and was removed automatically.
  • The stored file is no longer on disk for any other reason.

Delete an import from My Imports

Select My Imports from the menu. In the table, find the file and click Delete in the Action column. Confirm the prompt if asked.

Delete from Recent Imports on Import Data

Select Import Data from the menu. In the Recent Imports list, hover over the file row until the X appears at the end of the row, then click it. Confirm the prompt if asked.

Delete from the upload completion message

After a successful upload, the green completion message includes a Delete link next to this upload file. Click Delete, then confirm the prompt if asked.

Xero and automatic file removal

Deleting a file in UpSheets removes that import and its copy of the data in UpSheets only. It does not delete, undo, or update anything already sent to Xero.
Imports you do not delete yourself are removed automatically after 60 days. After that, the import record and any stored upload file are deleted and Download is no longer available.
