How to Use This Rule Set in UpSheets

  1. Copy the Fitness Award rule set from the Award Library and select the Adult variant during review.
  2. Assign the correct classification and employment type to each employee using this variant.
  3. Simulate representative shifts, then publish and assign the rule set to affected employees.

Assumptions and Limitations

Assumptions

  • Clause 13.1 ordinary hours may be worked on any 5 days within Mon-Fri 5:00 am-11:00 pm and Sat/Sun 6:00 am-9:00 pm.
  • Model BASE Monday-Friday 05:00-23:00; Saturday ordinary penalty 125% inside 06:00-21:00; Sunday ordinary penalty 150% inside 06:00-21:00.
  • Outside-spread work is overtime under clause 19.1(a)(i): Mon-Fri before 5:00 am uses first-2 / after-2 tiers at 150%/200%; Mon-Fri after 11:00 pm is a flat 150% band (one-hour window); Saturday before 6:00 am / after 9:00 pm use first-2 / after-2 at 150%/200%; Sunday outside 6:00 am-9:00 pm is 200%.
  • Daily overtime after 10 ordinary hours (clause 13.3 / 19.1(a)(iii)) and weekly overtime after 38 hours (simplified from clause 13.2 4-week average) use Mon-Sat first-2 / after-2 at 150%/200%, Sunday 200%, and public holiday 250% for FT/PT.
  • Public holidays: FT/PT 250% with 4-hour minimum engagement (clause 26.3(a)).
  • Casual PH/Sat/Sun ordinary payment is clause 12.1(b) 130% of the minimum hourly rate.
  • Clause 12.1(b) Sat/Sun/PH ordinary is 130% of the minimum, so loaded-base multiple is 130%/125%=1.04.
  • Casual loadings are not paid on overtime (clause 12.2 / NOTE to 19.2), so OT/GAP multiples against the loaded base are 150%/125%=1.2 and 200%/125%=1.6.
  • FULL_TIME/PART_TIME multiples remain award percentages of the unloaded minimum.
  • Minimum engagement: part-time 3 hours (clause 11.4) day-scoped at the applicable day multiple; casual default 3 hours (clause 12.3(a)) similarly day-scoped; PH 4 hours for all employment types.
  • Clause 12.3(b) one-hour casual instructor/trainer/coach minimum is excluded (manual).
  • Clause 19.3 less than 10 consecutive hours between shifts is a single GAP rule at flat 200% (casual 1.6); the clause 19.3(b) exemption when prior duty was 3 hours or less is not auto-detected.
  • Deputy FIA article aligns on span OT bands, Sat 125% / Sun 150% / PH 250%, casual 1.04 weekend/PH, OT first-2/after-2 after 10 daily and 38 weekly, 10-hour GAP, and ME day scopes.

Not Supported by This Rule Set

  • Broken shift span and two-part roster constraints
  • Casual instructor/trainer/tennis coach or trainee one-hour minimum engagement
  • Clause 19.3(b) GAP exemption when prior duty was 3 hours or less
  • Four-week averaging of ordinary hours
  • Junior, apprentice, trainee, and supported wage classifications
  • Make-up time
  • Paid rest breaks
  • Part-time hours in excess of the written agreed pattern
  • Rostered days off
  • Time off instead of payment for overtime
  • Unpaid meal break timing and delayed meal break 200% penalty
