Assumptions and Limitations

Assumptions

  • Modelling follows Fair Work award text and MAPD only.
  • Ordinary hours may be worked on any day of the week (clauses 13 and 20).
  • Day-worker BASE is Monday to Friday 6:00 am-6:00 pm at the Table 7 day rate.
  • Monday to Friday hours from midnight to 6:00 am and 6:00 pm to midnight are time-window night penalties (Table 7), not entire-shift START_ONLY/END_ONLY loadings.
  • Saturday, Sunday and public holiday ordinary penalties are whole-day MULTIPLE rates (Table 7), not whole-day overtime.
  • Casual MULTIPLE lines use (award % of minimum) / 1.25 against that loaded base (night 146.7%/125%=1.1736; permanent night 155%/125%=1.24; Saturday 175%/125%=1.4; Sunday 225%/125%=1.8; public holiday ordinary 275%/125%=2.2).
  • Table 5 overtime is a percentage of the Table 4 minimum hourly rate and does not add casual loading, so casual OT/GAP multiples are 150%/125%=1.2, 200%/125%=1.6 and public holiday OT 250%/125%=2.0.
  • FULL_TIME/PART_TIME multiples remain award percentages of the unloaded minimum (night 1.217; permanent night 1.3; Saturday 1.5; Sunday 2.0; public holiday 2.5; OT first 2 hours 1.5; OT after / Sunday OT / GAP 2.0; PH OT 2.5).
  • Overtime (Table 5 / clause 19): daily overtime after 10 hours (clause 13.3(b) maximum ordinary hours per shift; clause 19.2(c)(i) for casuals).
  • Monday to Saturday first-2 / after-2 tiers reset each day (clause 19.3(c)).
  • Sunday and public holiday overtime after 10 remain flat at Table 5 Sunday/PH rates.
  • Weekly overtime after 38 hours uses Monday to Saturday first-2 / after-2 tiers, plus Sunday weekly and public holiday weekly at the applicable rates.
  • Part-time overtime is actually hours in excess of the clause 10.3 agreement (clause 19.2(b)); the 38-hour weekly threshold is the full-time / casual default.
  • Clause 14.4(d) requires 8 consecutive hours between shifts and pays a flat 200% of the minimum hourly rate until that break.
  • Modelled as a single GAP rule (FULL_TIME/PART_TIME 2.0; casual 200%/125%=1.6).
  • Minimum engagement: clause 13.3(a) rostering floors are modelled as paid minima (full-time 7.6 hours; part-time default 4 hours; casual 4 hours), day-scoped at the applicable day multiple.
  • Night-span short shifts still use the Monday-Friday ordinary ME multiple rather than the night penalty.
  • Broken-shift 3-hour payment per period (clause 13.3(i)) is excluded.
  • Permanent night work (clause 20.3) uses 130% / casual 155% instead of 121.7% / 146.7% on Monday to Friday night windows.
  • Choosing Day Worker versus Permanent Night Shiftworker remains manual.
