- Simulate representative shifts, then publish and assign the rule set to affected employees.
Assumptions and Limitations
Assumptions
- CASUAL base rates already include the award 25% loading.
- Because MULTIPLE lines apply against that loaded casual base, casual penalty, overtime, ME, and GAP multiples are award% of the unloaded minimum divided by 1.25 (OT first 2 hours 175%/125%=1.4, after/Sunday/GAP 225%/125%=1.8, PH 275%/125%=2.2, early morning 137.5%/125%=1.1, afternoon 140%/125%=1.12, night 155%/125%=1.24).
- FULL_TIME/PART_TIME multiples remain the award percentages of the unloaded minimum (1.5 / 2.0 / 2.5 and shift 1.125 / 1.15 / 1.3).
- Day workers use clause 13.1(b)/13.2 Monday to Friday ordinary hours inside 7:00 am to 5:30 pm with an 8-hour daily ordinary cap.
- Default modelling treats Saturday and Sunday as outside ordinary hours (weekend ordinary by agreement under clauses 13.1(e) and 20.3(c) is excluded), so Saturday uses clause 21.1 whole-day overtime tiers (150% first 2 hours, 200% after) with a 3-hour minimum payment under clause 22.1(b), Sunday uses 200% with a 4-hour minimum under clause 22.2(b), and public holidays use 250% with a 4-hour minimum under clause 22.3(b).
- Monday to Friday outside-spread and daily overtime use clause 21.1 first-2 / after-2 tiers.
- Weekly overtime after 38 hours uses the same first-2 / after-2 tiers on EVERY so Sunday hours count.
- Shiftworkers use clause 20.3 Monday to Friday ordinary hours (BASE all-day Mon - midnight Friday) with clause 20.1/20.4 shift-type detection: early morning START_ONLY 02:00 - 06:59 at 112.5% (casual 1.1), afternoon END_ONLY finish after 6pm at or before midnight at 115% (casual 1.12), night END_ONLY finish after midnight at or before 8:30am at 130% (casual 1.24), plus night-start START_ONLY 00:00 - 01:59 at night rate so inclusive start-window matching does not collide with early morning.
- Shiftworker Mon - Fri daily OT after 8, Saturday whole-day OT tiers, Sunday/PH rates, ME, and GAP match the day-worker weekend/OT structure without day-worker pre/post-spread OT bands; Sat/Sun/PH rates substitute for shift penalties under clauses 20.3(f) and 22.
- Clause 21.4 less than 10 consecutive hours between duties is a single GAP rule at flat 200% (casual 225%/125%=1.8), not tiered relevant OT.
- Casual minimum engagement under clause 11.1 is 4 hours Monday to Friday at ordinary; weekend/PH minima are satisfied by the higher Sat/Sun/PH ME lines.
- Part-time minimum engagement under clause 10.5 is 3 consecutive hours Monday to Friday at ordinary.
- Choosing Day Worker versus Shiftworker remains a manual variant assignment; shift type within Shiftworker is detected automatically via START_ONLY/END_ONLY windows.
