Timesheets

If you are importing monthly totals and assigning them to a single date, Australia is different from New Zealand and the United Kingdom. Xero Australia allows more than 24 hours on one timesheet date for an employee, so summary rows such as basic hours and overtime hours can be uploaded as timesheets where they match your payroll setup.

If you prefer not to upload monthly totals as timesheets, Australia also supports payslip uploads, so those totals can often be loaded as payslip lines instead.

first_name	The first name of the employee.	Text	Required
last_name	The last name of the employee.	Text	Required
date	The date the employee worked.	Date	Required
hours	The number of hours the employee worked.	Number (max 2DP)	Required – you may optionally provide a Start Time and End Time column instead
type	The Earnings Rate for the hours worked. Must match the text of the Earnings Rate in Xero.	Text	Optional; if not in the file, a default or the employee default must be selected at import or by using multiple pay items.
tracking_code	The Tracking Code for the hours worked. Must match the text of the Tracking Code in Xero.	Text	Required on every line when tracking categories are enabled in Xero (Xero validation). If the column is omitted, select a default at import. See Tracking Categories.

You may use a single full_name column instead of first_name and last_name.

You may optionally provide a Start Time and End Time column instead of a single Hours column where hours are required.
