When to use this
Use a top up allowance when one allowance unit should be added if a shift starts, finishes, or overlaps a configured time window. For example, add one evening allowance when a weekday shift touches the period from 19:00 to midnight.Before You Start
Open or create the Smart Formula from Smart Formulas > Configure. Confirm whether the allowance should apply automatically during assignment. See Assign Smart Formulas to Employees.Example Setup
Worked Example
The allowance is one unit for the shift. It does not multiply by the number of hours in the time window.
Test the Example
Before publishing:- Open Smart Formulas > Simulate.
- Add shifts that overlap and do not overlap the top up period.
- Click Run Simulation.
- Confirm the allowance appears once for each matching shift.
