Hourly Allowance Example

When to use this

Use an hourly allowance when an allowance should be added for each hour worked in a day, time window, or hour band. For example, a night allowance may apply for every hour worked between midnight and 06:00 on weekdays.

Before You Start

Open or create the Smart Formula from Smart Formulas > Configure. If the allowance should apply automatically, keep Use Automatic Allowances enabled when assigning the formula to employees. See Assign Smart Formulas to Employees.

Example Setup

You can also use an hour period, such as 0-8, when the allowance applies to the first 8 hours worked rather than a clock-time window.

Test the Example

Before publishing:

1. Open Smart Formulas > Simulate.
2. Add shifts inside, partly inside, and outside the allowance period.
3. Click Run Simulation.
4. Confirm the allowance units match the hours worked in the configured period.
