When to use this

Use a broken or split shift allowance when an employee works multiple shifts in a day and the gap between shifts should trigger an allowance. The allowance is separate from the earnings rate. If the gap should change the earnings rate instead, use Minimum Shift Gap.

Before You Start

Open or create the Smart Formula from Smart Formulas > Configure. Confirm whether the allowance should apply automatically during assignment. See Assign Smart Formulas to Employees.

Example Setup

The daily cap limits how many times the allowance can apply in one day. The weekly cap limits the total number of allowances in the assessment period.
